That lovin’ feeling

How we’d plan these iconic couples’ Valentine’s Day dates

Oh, dearest. You didn’t truly believe all you need is love, did you?

Especially on such an occasion as Valentine’s Day. After all, without meticulous attention to detail, you run the risk of – dare we say – a boring celebration of your anything-but-boring love.

But never mind that. With Acquaint by your side, your February 14 will feature a personalised, passionate and premium date – straight from the movies. As if you were the characters themselves.

A date for Martha and George – Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

For those who identify with Martha and George, even February 14 couldn’t stop your dark humour and verbal sparring. So when we plan your date – we’ll embrace those quirks.

And yes, that will involve a clandestine, midnight picnic at an abandoned manor, complete with candlelight and the choicest of treats. Because of course it would. We’ll then provide the happy couple with a top-shelf bottle of whiskey for a tasting with a twist. Truth or dare style.

But we wouldn’t stop there. We’ll cap off the evening with a private screening of your favourite classic film, standing sentinel at a distance far enough away to allow your alone time. But close enough to still enjoy the movie, ourselves (naturally).

A date for Evelyn and Douglas – The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

Do Evelyn and Douglas’s sense of adventure, freedom and zest for life remind you of you and yours? We’ve got just the ticket.

At such short notice, a trip to Jaipur might be a tough one for even us to swing.

But a private rooftop dinner at the city’s finest Indian restaurant is no tall order. While staring into each other’s eyes, the two of you will enjoy a sumptuous serving of India’s best delicacies – surrounded with twinkling lights, colourful flowers and a cosy setting.

Then, what else is there to do but let your hair down and put your dancing shoes on? So it’ll be off to a Bollywood show for us – and yes, we do mean us. Don’t threaten us with a good time.

A date for Ella and John – The Leisure Seeker

We are no stranger to spontaneity. But mind you, we are strangers to messy planning. So if you’d prefer to make like Ella and John this Valentine’s Day and let loose – we’ll be there to keep things on track.

Or perhaps we should say road. Because, as you well know, sometimes Valentine’s Day calls for four wheels and an open road. So we’ll organise your classic convertible car rental, the latest road atlas and be on our way.

And along the way? Picturesque countryside lakes and fields abound. We’ll be ready at a moment’s notice to pull in for a picnic, stargazing session or photo op at a moment’s notice. Fast and furious – no driving Miss Daisy’s here, thank you very much.

A date for Iris and Arthur – The Holiday

Amidst all the glitz and glam of true love’s gaze, one type of love shines subtly but sure: friendship. Just like the one between Iris and Arthur.

So for you and your real life partners this Valentine’s Day, we’ll kick things off with a rom-com movie marathon at home. Complete with a cosy couch and plenty of blankets, pillows and popcorn. And on the big screen? Our carefully curated selection of the best of the best – from When Harry Met Sally to perhaps even The Holiday, itself.

Then, we’ll head out to our pre-determined picturesque location for a friendship photoshoot. Capturing candid, playful moments as you strike a pose and swap props. Come on, Vogue!

Our tailored home services go beyond traditional offerings. Our passionate team is here to help you live life – and date – your way. So if you’re in need of companionship or planning assistance this Valentine’s Day, call us on 03 9267 9090.
