Attention, please. The Victorian Seniors Festival is upon us – a splendid excuse to revel in the finer things life has to offer after 60!
With a delightful array of events – from exercise to entertainment – scattered across Melbourne, it’s the perfect time to explore private, at-home care services. From providers who know how to get you to your croquet tee-off on time, that is.
What’s on this year?
Fetch your calendars, dears. Because we’re unveiling the crème de la crème of this year’s most unmissable events at the Victorian Seniors Festival. In chronological order, our top picks are:
- The Posh and the Riff Raff: Kick off the celebrations on 2 October at the St Kilda Library with an epic screening of The Posh and the Riff Raff. And if you’re after an encore? Director Marianne Latham is hosting a Q&A after the show.
- Hawthorn Arts Centre venue tour: Join Boroondara Arts for a guided tour of the historic Hawthorn Arts Centre on 4 October.
- Tai Chi and Qigong: Find your flow on 10 October at the Toorak Uniting Church with a class on these ancient Chinese arts.
- Wine and cheese: If we were to ask you for a few of your favourite things, no doubt wine and cheese would make an appearance. So, it’s only fitting that Studio 1 Community Hub in Richmond is putting on a culinary feast for us on 15 October!
- Melbourne Stories | Una Deerbon: On 16 October, dive into the fascinating life of famous artist Una Deerbon, best known for her commercial success with hand-built pottery.
- Sunflowers and scones: Is there any better way to connect with one’s green thumb than by learning the tips, tricks and secrets of sunflowers – with a jam and cream scone (and Devonshire tea) on standby? We think not. And neither will any of the other people at Caulfield South Community House on 31 October.
Already added the above to your schedule? Then check out this year’s Victorian Seniors Festival’s official program to browse the other 2000+ events.
How will I get there?
Victorian Seniors Card holders, rejoice! You can take advantage of a full week of free public transport from 6 October to 13 October.
You’ll explore Melbourne’s vibrant attractions. Discover events happening throughout the city. And maybe even get to know your local tram drivers – with ease!
But if you’d rather travel by car, we may know of a responsible (and efficient) driver for you…
Will Acquaint come with me?
Darling, we thought you’d never ask.
Please know this: the festival is just a starting point. Because while we at Acquaint specialise in at-home aged care, we are more than proficient in parties as well.
And we’re prepared to keep all the excitement of this year’s Victorian Seniors Festival going until the next one. With care, companionship and celebrations specifically tailored to you.
We understand you
You have a list of a million things you need to get to throughout the day. And we know all too well that you do not have time to prepare your meals and hang out the bedsheets.
That’s why we take those tasks off your hands.
We come to you
Whether you’re at your home or a government-funded one, Acquaint will meet you where you’re at, offering a range of services to keep you living in your element.
It’s why we’re so excited to be working with our partner [SM1] in home care packages!
We fit you
Acquaint has a track record of delivering exceptional private home care services. We can do the same for you and your family.
And we’ll do it your way. We’re never ones to stay stagnant. So, if we need to adapt our services to suit your changing needs and preferences? We consider it an honour to be with you on the journey.
We could continue to explain all the ways Acquaint provides the highest quality of care there is, but our clients say it better than we can. So read the reviews from our many (if we do say so ourselves) happy customers.
"When it came to trying to arrange care and services for a family member we really only looked to one service provider. We are so relieved we chose Acquaint to provide home based services to our loved one..."
Ready to enjoy the festivities this year? Make sure you do so with the right support. Here at Acquaint, we can provide anything you need, whether that’s home assistance, a travel buddy or companionship.
