My mother is in her mid 80’s and has been lucky enough to lead a very interesting life, with work and leisure balanced through a love of the arts and extensive travel. With this in mind we were looking for a company that understood what that meant and how important this was to mum. As walking has become harder she has been so pleased to be able to get out to the gallery, her clubs and charity events.
From the moment we first started researching options for aged care at home for my mother we knew we were on to the right home care service. Looking at many websites to help the elderly stay at home was exhausting and most focused on home care packages and listed the endless steps needed to qualify for and then receive their services. The phone calls were even worse!
Acquaint was completely different from the outset. From our first interaction with Amelia and a meeting with Annette in our home at a time that suited us, we were hooked. The girls made it so easy and made sure they organised a personal care team that could handle Mum. No mean feat I can assure you!
The things we like best are the small things, the attention to detail at every point along the way. The staff know exactly what to do and we have the complete flexibility to increase or decrease home care services according to mum’s social schedule.
As one of five siblings it was important that we were all in sync when it came to knowing what was going on. We are using the complementary app which means everyone can see who is scheduled and we can even get in touch with the office via the app. This has meant my brother in London and sisters all over Australia are kept in the loop about her in home support which has saved everyone’s time and they have loved having the app too.
Invoicing has been really easy and we have not had any issues with incorrect amounts (something we were warned about by friends dealing with their parents’ home care providers).
In summary I would highly recommend Acquaint for people looking for quite simply the best private home care service in Melbourne.
