Eventually, we all move away from the unnecessary fuss of opening night and towards the understated class of a midday matinee.
The magic of the theatre is no less potent at noon than it is at nine, after all. And the preparations one must make to have a successful viewing of the Regent’s latest are just as important – no matter the time.
Here at Acquaint, we understand this all too well. And we’re here to make sure that when you head to the theatre – and back home at a reasonable hour, mind you – the only dramas are the ones that happen on stage.
Step 1: The consultation over coffee
No successful day at the theatre can occur without first conducting a thorough consultation. That’s why, on the day of the performance, our skilled team sits down with you over a coffee to delve deeply into your viewing preferences.
We leave no stone unturned, ensuring every detail for the day is meticulously curated to your liking – from the pre-show conversation to your performance-viewing must-haves.
You can’t enjoy a show without your opera glasses? They’ll be the first things we pack. You need to avoid any mention of potential spoilers? Mum’s the word.
Step 2: The royal pampering session
As we all know, one must begin preparations for their theatre outing hours before curtains up. That’s why you’ll enjoy a pampering session fit for a monarch as soon as we finish our flat whites.
From luxurious grooming to wardrobe selection, we will support you through it all with an approving ‘Ooooh!’ and an encouraging ‘Ahhh!’ for each of your carefully curated outfit options. Because we know you always dress to impress.
Step 3: The drive to arrive – early
It’s no secret that latecomers are the bane of society. That’s why we’ll glide to the theatre in style and comfort with our top-notch transportation planning.
Whether it’s Acquaint behind the wheel or another responsible driver, we’ll take you from front door to stage door faster than you can say ‘Bravo!’
Step 4: The pre-show meal
Perhaps the most important step (after the wardrobe, of course) is the pre-theatre meal. How on earth could one enjoy a performance on an empty stomach?
So, as soon as we arrive, we’ll procure ourselves a table at the Bistro d’Orsay for your usual. Because we can rely on them to offer the best balance between quality cuisine and sophisticated ambience.
And should it so happen to include a King Valley wine list? Well, what a fine coincidence.
Step 5: The seat settlement
Of course, it is preferable for one to be comfortably seated and settled at least 10 minutes before curtains up.
That’s why, after we’ve been suitably satiated at our lunch spot of choice, we head straight to the theatre to breeze through water and/or wine acquisition, restroom stops and seat discovery.
Then, and only then, will we be able to enjoy the show.
