The best kind of 9 to 5

A day in the life of a Toorak matriarch

Margot the Toorak matriarch’s top rule for life?

One should sooner use a soup spoon for dessert than allow something as flimsy as fatigue to get in the way of one’s daily tasks.

In fact, anything less than a graceful glide from one appointment to the next is positively unacceptable.

So it’s a good thing that from sunrise to sunset, Margot has a competent companion in Acquaint – the all-in-one solution to private nursing, home assisting and day planning – to guide her through her stacked schedule.

9 AM: Arise with the morning birdsong

Margot wakes with a full-body yawn and stretch – allowing time for the gentle streams of sunlight shining through the window to adjust her body from slumber to switched on.

Then, with the local lorikeets’ laughter as her soundtrack, her focus shifts to personal care. And thankfully, she has Acquaint there to make sure she never mistakes her evening eye cream for her morning moisturiser – God forbid.

11 AM: Brisk walk in the gardens

After a long night of beauty sleep, mid-morning is the time to stretch the legs through a botanic garden of choice.

And if said leg-stretching takes Margot past any of the five park benches she has so generously donated to the community, then so be it.

Through it all, her Acquaint companion will match her pace with every step.

1 PM: Lunch with the girls

As we all know – it’s the company you keep. Which is why Acquaint makes sure Margot is never late for a bite at the bistro with Adelaide, Vivienne and Bea.

The gossip isn’t going to tell itself, after all. Nor will the spatchcock and crème brûlée eat themselves, either.

3 PM: Head down High Street

When it comes to finding a new piece for her capsule wardrobe, Margot knows there’s no better place than Carla Zampatti. And sometimes, all the soul needs is a quick trim and blowout.

So it’s a good thing High Street (heaven on earth) can accommodate Margot’s every whim. And, that her Acquaint companion can make sure she's seen in all the right places.

5 PM: Dinner and a (TV) show

After such a busy day, it’s time for Margot to wind down.

And wine down, with a rich Cabernet Sauvignon to wash down her meat and three veg.

Soon enough, a Murder, She Wrote rerun will grace the silver screen. And after a generous serving of drama, Margot’s favourite part of the day can finally begin: her sacred night-time routine.
